If you have a bustle dress languishing in some dreary closet but haven't worn it in ages because you didn't want to be the only one wearing a bustle dress, now may be the time to rejoice during the holiday season. A few of us were thinking of wearing bustle dresses to the December Gaskell's. So, dust off that dress, try out that pattern you've had your eye on, or finish up the dress you started ages ago. There are a few months to trim and trim and trim with your little Victorian sensibilities.
For men, it may be one of the only acceptable times to answer "yes" to the question "Does this dress make my butt look big?"
"Business up front, party in the back."
p.s. Before I get my feelings hurt again, I'm only mentioning this as a courtesy in case people would like to play and join in, but it's not official, mandatory, or a missive from The Man. Rebellious souls, please start your own post.

Wed, October 3, 2007 - 11:49 PMShoot. A year would have given me enough time to sew and outfit and then get in good enough shape to dance again. ;-) -

Re: Dec 2008 Gaskell's bustley goodness
Fri, October 5, 2007 - 10:30 PMSo, while the ladies will hustle
And sew together a bustle,
Just how shall the gentleman play
At Gaskells before Christmas Day?
Shall we wear waistcoats and ascots
In a pattern of polka dots?
Do solid red or green appeal?
(But not of course to be seen in teal !)
Not that any should be outdone,
But must the gals have all the fun? -

NO!!! Down with the dominant paradigm! *I'm* going to wear a dress that makes my butt look as SMALL as possible! I'm going to wear a...a butt corset! Yeah! : ) -
